Welcome in my homepage. At first you must apologize me for my incorrect english, I hope that it's enough clear.
I am Roberto Marcocci, collector of 78rpm's disks. My collection is exclusively devoted to the Italian and foreign singers that primarily sang in the Italian smaller Houses and in the smaller companies active in an any part of the world, the all in the period 1880/1930. About these singers, currently around 1000, I have picked up biographical and chronological news. I have also picked up biographical and chronological news about singers that have never recorded disks.
Currently in my database I've listed around 118.000 records and each record it is a partial or complete list of the artists that performed in an opera gived in some theater in the world in the period 1870/1945.
Here you won't find news on Gigli, Caruso, Schipa etc but photos, discographies, news and listening of so many good singers that brought all over the world the Italian lyric art. For my searches I have consulted a lot of chronologies of lyric theaters and many musical magazines that were published by the various theatrical agencies and distributed in subscription to the singers.
I hope that all you will help me with news and corrections.
I will be always available to satisfy any your curiosity.
