Ebbe da giovane una vita avventurosa. Conclusi gli studi entrò in una compagnia itinerante che si esibiva prevalentemente nelle città russe dove rimase per alcuni anni. Rientrato a Trieste fu convinto a sposarsi. La nascita dei figli lo convinse ad abbandonare la carriera per rientrare al paese natale dove aprì una bottega di calzolaio. L'arrivo della grande guerra gli offrì l'occasione per esibirsi in occasionali concerti che venivano organizzati per allietare le truppe al fronte e che gli venivano pagati con alcune razioni alimentari destinate alla truppe. La vicinanza con Caporetto lo costrinse a trasferirsi con la famiglia a Milano dove morì prematuramente.

He had an adventurous life as a young man. After the study of song he was engaged in a touring company that was performing mostly in Russian cities where he remained for some years. He returned to Trieste was persuaded to marry. The birth of the children persuaded him to abandon his career to return to his home town to practice as a shoemaker. The arrival of World War I offered him the opportunity to perform in occasional concerts that were organized to entertain the troops at the front, and that they were paid with some food rations intended for the troops. The proximity of Caporetto forced him to move his family to Milan, where he died prematurely.
